What is CCTV Drain Inspection?

CCTV drain inspection has been made possible using technology that allows us to pass a waterproof, high definition camera, through a drain pipe to investigate the causes of any drainage problems. We have invested in the latest camera on the market to ensure we are able to fully diagnose drainage problems and provide you, our customers, with the best guidance and to provide accurate quotations. The use of the camera means we don't need to dig anywhere to investigate; which would cause distress to you. The camera is very small and can be passed through the smallest of pipes making it the best solution for inspecting drains.

Plunger or Rod - What's the difference?

More times than not a blockage can be cleared using a plunger to dislodge the blockage in the drain. Without getting scientific, the pressure caused by the plunger will force the blockage out; problem solved.

However, this is not always possible; either the drain is too big for a plunger or the pressure simply isn't flushing the blockage through. In this instance, a rod can be used. The rod is specially designed to fit through the drain and has a fitting on the end to grab the blockage and pull it through. This method of removal is best for full drain clearance and will leave your drains flowing and flushing as they should.

Is my water company responsible?

The simple answer is no.

All of the pipes and drains located within the boundaries of your property are yours to maintain. The company responsible for your water supply and waste do not have any obligation to repair any problems you are having with pipes or drainage. With regard to supply pipes, any problems that occur from your stop valve inwards (the supply pipe) are your responsibility. Any drains that carry waste away from your property are also your responsibility.

Some water company will offer repair services but they are often expensive and charge a callout fee.
